Alternate College Football Postseason
The KC Star newspaper suggested an option to the NCAA Football postseason....with the BCS system out and a better tournament situation for teams. Highlights of the Star's ideas:
- The top 12 teams in the final BCS standings make the playoffs, includes W-L and BCS averages.
- the top four seeds each get a bye
- use the existing bowls to play the games
- use the website www.whatifsports.com to simulate the results.
Here's the 12 teams who are in the KC Star brackets:
- Ohio State
- LSU
- Virginia Tech
- Oklahoma
- Georgia
- Missouri
- Southern Cal
- Kansas
- West Virginia
- Hawaii
- Arizona State
- Florida
Should be fun to watch the results, but can a simulated bowl playoffs really capture the passion a team has and potential for an upset over a motivated college team?
