The Kansas City Star newspaper mentioned the fact that the KC Royals and Chiefs have not won a post season game in 15 years....ever since the shuttlecocks were installed at the Nelson Atkins Museum...calling it the Curse of the Shuttlecocks. 

Since the Chiefs beat the Houston Oilers in an AFC playoff game on Jan. 16, 1994, Kansas City is the ONLY city with a pro football and baseball team that hasn't won a post season game.  The Chiefs are 0-5 in that 15-year time span and the Royals haven't made the post season. 

Other cities with the playoff blues since 1994:

• Cincinnati, baseball, 1 appearance, made NLCS in 1995, Football, 1 appearance, 0 wins.
• Washington DC; baseball 0 appearances (incl Expos) and football, 3 appearances, 2 wins
• Detroit; baseball 1 appearance, made 2006 World Series, Football, 4 appearances, 0 wins.

Maybe it will take some TIME to remove the curse of the shuttlecocks or what ever else is causing bad luck for KC sports team championships.....but not to fear, other cities have had long term "curses", but after a long time, often broke the "curse":

• Curse of the Billy Goat, with the Chicago Cubs, since 1945....
• Curse of the Bambino, with the Red Sox since selling Babe Ruth to the Yankees in 1919, but finally breaking the curse and win the World Series in 2004! But in that same time, the Yankees won 26.
• Curse of the Black Sox, with the Chicago White Sox, throwing the 1919 World Series, took 86 years to finally win the World Series in 2005.
